Rolling Fog

Imagine that you are in a valley, and you see a rolling fog coming toward you. At first, the fog appears like a solid, continuous mass that is moving in your direction. However, as the fog gets closer, you start to notice that it is not a solid entity, but rather, it is made up of a collection of tiny water droplets that are suspended in the air.

If you were to examine the fog even more closely, you would realize that the individual water droplets that make up the fog are constantly changing. They are evaporating and condensing depending on the temperature and humidity of the surrounding air. Therefore, the fog is not a static, permanent entity, but rather, it is a constantly changing collection of water droplets that are dependent on various conditions.

This realization of the emptiness of the fog can help us to understand the nature of reality. We can start to see all phenomena, including ourselves and the world around us, as impermanent and dependent on various conditions. By recognizing this, we can let go of our attachment to fixed ideas and identities and cultivate greater wisdom, compassion, and freedom in our lives.
